Yet despite the damage, the umbrella continues to provide shelter – symbolising the unwavering support, protection and determination shown by grandparents who continue to stand beside their children and grandchildren.

The teardrops falling from the umbrella are intentional. They represent grief, loss, separation and the emotional toll many families experience. Beneath them, the growing pool reflects the collective stories of those affected, whilst the bold purple umbrella remains standing as a symbol of hope, strength and perseverance.
